FEBRUARY 26, 2026 SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
A Special
Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Thursday February 26, 2026. Clerk
Ziesmer called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. All present recited The Pledge
of Allegiance.
Present were
Trustees: Alana Horkey, Ken Jaworski Tim Miles, Gary
Lazette, Clerk Karla Ziesmer, and Treasurer Lisa Ost. Clerk Ziesmer did roll
call.
Due to the
absence of a Supervisor, Clerk Ziesmer moved to appoint Trustee Alana Horkey to
chair the meeting. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer Ost moved adopt the agenda as written.
Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.
PUBLIC
COMMENT: No public comment was received.
Review and Appointment of Township
Supervisor
The Board received four letters of
interest/resumes for the vacant Township Supervisor position from: Jamie
Berg-Morales, Lyle Jaworski, Timothy Miles, and Ron Charter. Each candidate was
invited to address the Board and provide remarks regarding their
qualifications, interest in the position, and vision for the Township.
- Ron Charter
spoke regarding his 33 years of public service with the Fire Department,
including service as Assistant Chief, experience in budget preparation,
and commitment to preserving the Township’s Master Plan while supporting
community needs.
- Lyle Jaworski
highlighted his experience as a lifelong resident, business owner, and
involvement in agricultural tourism. He emphasized protecting agriculture,
addressing data center concerns, and ensuring community-driven
decision-making.
- Jamie Berg-Morales
shared his background as a local resident and current student at Monroe
County Community College studying project and construction management. He
expressed interest in serving and contributing his management and
financial knowledge.
- Timothy Miles
presented a leadership framework centered around three key areas: policy
and identity, operations and resources, and people and processes. He
discussed the importance of alignment, coordination, and communication in
township leadership.
The Board reviewed core competencies and
statutory duties of the Township Supervisor.
Treasurer Ost to appoint Ron
Charter as Dundee Township
Supervisor. Trustee Jaworski seconded.
Additional Board Comments:
- Planning Commission opportunities were
mentioned for interested applicants.
- It
was noted that bank account signatories will be updated to remove former
Supervisor Roger Lewis and add Supervisor Ron Charter.
- The
Board further noted that the appointed Supervisor will serve until the
November election.
Trustee Jaworski motioned to adjourn the meeting at
1:23 p.m. Treasurer Ost seconded. Motion carried.
