10, 2026 BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES
A
Budget Workshop Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday March 10,
2026. Supervisor Charter called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Present were: Trustees:
Horkey, Jaworski, Miles, Lazette, Supervisor Charter, Treasurer Ost and Clerk
Ziesmer. Clerk Ziesmer did roll call.
The Clerk
reported that election expenses will need to be increased due to the
anticipated May, August, and November elections. After discussion, the Board
agreed to increase the Election Department budget to $35,000, with adjustments
anticipated to election worker fees, postage, supplies, and equipment.
Under the Cemetery budget, the Board discussed
the $12,000 improvement line item. Historical activity shows this category has
typically been budgeted at zero, with maintenance costs remaining within the
overall cemetery budget. The Board discussed reallocating the improvement funds
if needed.
The Board
reviewed routine
road maintenance services, noting the expense will be removed from the General Fund and paid through the Road Millage Fund, resulting in an
estimated General
Fund net revenue of $32,171.
Discussion was
also held regarding the Building, Plumbing, Electrical, and
Mechanical inspection accounts, which exceeded budgeted amounts due to
increased permit activity. Adjustments may be made to better reflect
anticipated activity levels.
The Board
reviewed proposed Schedule A and B salary schedules and discussed a 3% wage increase for applicable
positions. It was noted that the state minimum wage will increase to $15 per
hour beginning January 1, which may affect certain hourly positions.
Additional
discussion occurred regarding holiday pay for hourly employees and potential facility
maintenance projects, including painting and flooring estimates for township
buildings.
Due to the
upcoming budget adoption deadline, the Board agreed to hold one additional budget
workshop prior to the March 24 meeting to finalize figures.
Trustee Jaworski motioned to
adjourn at 6:33 p.m. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
The next Budget Workshop will be March 19 at 5:00 p.m.
