24, 2026 BUDGET WORKSHOP MINUTES

Budget Workshop Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday February
24, 2026. Clerk Ziesmer called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Present were: Trustees:
Horkey, Jaworski, Miles, Lazette, Clerk Ziesmer and Treasurer Ost. Clerk
Ziesmer did roll call.
Due to the absence of a Supervisor, Clerk Ziesmer
moved to appoint Trustee Alana Horkey to chair the meeting. Trustee Lazette
seconded. Motion carried.
Discussion Items:

Budget Review
The Board continued review of the
preliminary budget, including salaries and departmental appropriations. A 3%
adjustment across departments is currently reflected and may be revised prior
to adoption.

Fire Department
The Fire Chief requested a minor
increase to per-run compensation and hourly pay for extended emergency calls
due to an increase in lengthy responses and mutual aid incidents. The proposed
change would remain within the existing Fire Department payroll budget. No
formal action was taken as this was a workshop discussion.

Facilities & Equipment
The Board discussed fire department
chairs, township building maintenance, and library interior painting. One
painting quote has been received and additional quotes are pending.

Elections & Appointments
Election inspector wages and upcoming
training requirements were discussed. Board and commission appointments will be
addressed at a regular meeting.

Roads & Cemetery
Citizen concerns regarding flooding on
Cake and Lenawee County Roads were forwarded to the Road Commission. Cemetery
maintenance needs, including tree removal and brush clearing, were reviewed.

Financial Review
The Township reported a stable
financial position with approximately a $400,000 fund balance and increased
interest revenue. The Board discussed moving certain road expenses from the
General Fund to the Road Millage, which may result in a positive budget
balance.
Trustee Jaworski motioned to
adjourn at 6:32 p.m. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.

be Tuesday February 24, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
