A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday March 11, 2025. Supervisor Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All present recited The Pledge of Allegiance.
Present were Trustees: Alana Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Tim Miles, Gary Lazette, Supervisor Lewis, Clerk Ziesmer, Treasurer Hunt. Clerk Ziesmer did roll call.
- Supervisor Lewis motioned to revise the agenda, adding letter from Monroe County Drain Commission. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Trustee Jaworski opposed. Motion carried.
- Treasurer Hunt motioned to approve the minutes from the Budget Workshop Meeting held on February 25, 2025. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
- Trustee Miles motioned to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on February 25, 2025. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
- Treasurer Hunt motioned to waive the reading of the one correspondence and place it on file. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
- Treasurer Hunt motioned to approve the Treasurer’s Report for January 2025. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE: Planning Commission Meeting Minutes from February 26, 2025. Drain Commission Letter.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Howard Cilley spoke briefly about the last Planning Commission meeting at the Village.
OFFICIAL REPORTS
LIBRARY: Jennifer from the MCLS came to the meeting to give an update
- Statistics for January: Checked out 2738 items. 690 attendees for all programs. 179 of those were outside the building at daycares and schools.
- Applying for the Environmental Grant for a new Drinking fountain. Received two quotes to have fountain installed. Trustee Horkey motioned to accept the bid from Thompson Plumbing and Heating, and allow $750 for repairs that will need to be made to the surrounding wall after installation. Trustee Miles seconded. Trustee Lazette opposed. Motion carried.
- MCLS chose Remarkably Bright Creatures, by Shelby Van Pelt for the Book of the Month. The author will be at the Meyer Theater on Wednesday March 19th at 7:00 p.m. to talk about the book.
- Monroe Evening News wrote an article on “Library of Things”. MCLS has a wide variety of unusual items you can check out beyond books. Items including yard games, monitors, sun lamps, stud finders wall Art and many more.
ASSESSING: Finished Board of Reviews.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT: No report at this time
FIRE DEPARTMENT: No report at this time.
TREASURER LISA HUNT: Starting end of year close out process.
TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE: Still in the process of getting two different quotes for new flooring in the Township Hall bathrooms and public are.
CLERK KARLA ZIESMER: No report at this time.
SUPERVISOR LEWIS: No report at this time.
TRUSTEE TIM MILES: No report at this time.
TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI: Cemeteries need to be cleaned up by March 15th, 2025. All flowers and decorations must be removed.
TRUSTEE ALANA HORKEY: No report at the time
OLD BUSINESS:
NEW BUSINESS: Treasurer Hunt motioned to approve the Palka Special approval for Pole Barn on Irish Rd. Trustee Jaworski seconded. Trustee Lazette opposed. Motion carried.
Additional board comments:
- Many thanks were given to Chief Motylinski and the Fire Department for helping distribute water to the community during the Boil Wate Advisory.
- Truth in Taxation will be on March 25, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
Treasurer Hunt motion to pay bills from March 6, 2025 in the amount of $21,781.05. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
Trustee Jaworski motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:36 p.m. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
