DUNDEE TOWNSHIP
FEBRUARY 3, 2026 SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
A Special
Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held on Tuesday February 3, 2026.
Clerk Ziesmer called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. All present recited The
Pledge of Allegiance.
Present were
Trustees: Alana Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Tim Miles, Gary Lazette, Clerk Karla
Ziesmer, Treasurer Lisa Ost. Clerk Ziesmer did roll call.
Due to the
absence of a Supervisor, Clerk Ziesmer moved to appoint Trustee Alana Horkey to
chair the meeting. Treasurer Ost seconded. Motion carried.
Trustee
Lazette moved to adopt the agenda. Treasurer Ost seconded. Motion carried.
Trustee Horkey
read the resignation letter from Supervisor Roger D. Lewis, dated January
28, 2026, stating that due to medical issues he respectfully resigns from
the position of Township Supervisor, effective January 31, 2026.
Trustee Jaworski moved to accept the
resignation letter from Supervisor Roger D. Lewis. Trustee Miles seconded.
Motion carried.
Lyle Jaworski, Dundee Township resident,
addressed the Board and expressed interest in potentially accepting a position
on the Board. He emphasized the importance of Township decisions to his family
and the community and asked about the process moving forward. The Board stated
that the process would follow the law and that no decisions had been made at
this time.
Trustee Miles suggested that at the next
regular board meeting, the agenda include a discussion under New Business
regarding the process for filling the Supervisor vacancy, including whether to
proceed with informal floor nominations or a public call, and to take any
necessary formal action at that time.
Trustee Horkey thanked Supervisor Roger
Lewis for his service and expressed understanding that his resignation was due
to health concerns.
Trustee Jaworski moved to adjourn the
meeting at 9:33 a.m., Treasurer Ost seconded. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be
February 10, 2026, at 6:00PM for Budget Workshop, followed by the regular
Township Board Meeting at 7:00 PM.
