A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, February 28, 2024. Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 

 

Present were: Trustees: Alana Horkey, Travis Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Supervisor Uhl, Clerk Anderson, Gary Lazette & Treasurer Hunt. Clerk Anderson did roll call.

 

• Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve the amended agenda. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.
• Trustee Alana Horkey motioned to waive the reading and approve the minutes from the revised regular meeting held on February 13^th 2024. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
• Trustee Lazette motioned to approve the January 2024 Treasurer’s Report. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Supervisor Uhl presented Dundee Volunteer Fire Department with a Special Tribute Award from the Monroe County Commissioner for the ice rescue of the 12-year old boy.

TREASURER LISA HUNT:

• February 29^th is the last day for taxes. Still working with the mortgage companies on collecting taxes.

 

SUPERVISOR UHL:

• Spoke with River Raisin Watershed regarding the block in river. The Watershed is working with us to assist with options for removing the blockage. 

 

CLERK JEAN ANDERSON:

• Thanked Fire Department for assistance with the Presidential Primary Election. Election results: 65 Early Voting for Dundee, 64 Early Voters for Raisinville and 4 Early Voters for Milan Township. 699 Absentee Voting ballots received; 1,620 ballots cast.

 

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE:  

• The Township garage door is being installed.
• The library brick will need repair
• Attended Electrical Code Training.

 

TRUSTEE TRAVIS HORKEY:

• Mentioned the upcoming Planning Commission Meeting in March with possible review of the Master Plan.

 

 

TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI:

• Discussed the cemetery cleanup done by Rick’s Mowing.

 

TRUSTEE ALANA HORKEY:

•  No report at this time.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS:

• MCRC Contracts reviewed with summary report. Trustee Lazette motioned to approve all work to be completed as presented with a cost of $230,377. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion Carried.
• MCRC Contract for Dust Control. Trustee Lazette motioned to approve the dust control contracts
• Monroe County Drain Commission/Middle Branch of Macon #2 presented as Resolution 2024-3. Trustee Lazette motioned to approve Resolution 2024-3 to consolidate two or more drainage districts as a single intercounty drainage district for Middle Branch of Macon #2.

Roll Call Vote: Trustee Jaworski: Yes, Trustee Travis Horkey: Yes, Trustee Alana Horkey: Yes, Treasurer Hunt: Yes, Clerk Anderson: Yes, Trustee Lazette: Yes, Supervisor Uhl: Yes. Resolution 2024-3 Petition for Consolidating and Organizing Two or More Drainage Districts as a Single Intercounty Drainage District for Middle Branch of Macon #2 Adopted.                                                                                                                                     

• Jim Beck for Budget Assistance for this fiscal year. Supervisor Uhl motioned that the board authorize the Supervisor to engage Jim Beck to assist with the budget amendment process for the fiscal year 2023-2024 and to assist with the development of the proposed budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year at his hourly rate of $35.00 per hour. The total expenditure for his assistance through the end of the year is not to exceed $3,000 in addition to the previously approved amount. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion Carried.  Set Budget Workshop Dates discussed. Trustee Lazette motioned to set Budget Workshop dates as March 12^th, 19^th and 26^th at 5:30. Trustee Alana Horkey seconded. Motion Carried.
• Supervisor Uhl motioned to reappoint Nicole Kirkman and Bonnie Weber. Trustee Jaworski seconded. Motion Carried.

Supervisor Uhl motioned to pay the bills from February 8, 2024 in the amount of $185,642.98. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion Carried.

 

Trustee Lazette motioned to adjourn at 7:31 pm. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion Carried.
