In official reports, Supervisor Uhl informed the board that the letter from the AMAR was received for the audit of the assessing department. As discussed in the last meeting, Bryan Renius received 10 out of 10 for Dundee Township as well as other jurisdictions that he oversees. She also discussed the letter that we received from the Michigan department of State, informing us that according to the most recent United States census, the township has a population of 2,000 or more, which makes Dundee Township eligible to be incorporated as a charter township. There are agreements that have been made with the Village of Dundee that will be affected if the township became a charter township. The supervisor will look into what those are & let the board know. The board can choose to not enter into the process of becoming a charter township, or it can choose to become a charter township per a resolution, or it can be put on a ballot to be voted on. This item will be discussed further at a later date. The supervisor also asked the board to look at dates so that we can schedule the first 2 budget workshops. The board decided that on February 8th 2022 & February 22nd 2022, the first and second budget workshops will be held at 5pm before our regular board meetings. Trustee CJ Horkey had a meeting with the fire chief and supervisor Uhl to discuss the needs & issues of the department & gave an update. As of 1/25/22 they have reached 97 calls for the year which has stretched the department thin. They have invited some of the Ida fire department to come to a meeting to discuss changes they have made and ideas they may have that we possibly would be able to use to help Dundee fire department. The fire department will have an updated budget to bring to the workshop next month. Trustee Gary Lazette discussed light fixture updates that he has made at the library & also discussed the condition of Dixon Rd. He has noticed some inverted bumps located where the work was done on the road tiles. Supervisor Uhl expressed that she has spoken to the MCRC about the issue. Trustee Lazette also discussed his hopes to attend a zoning meeting at the Ida community room on February 9, 2022. Trustee Ken Jaworski expressed his appreciation to Troy Goodnough for getting back to the township about an intersection that Trustee Jaworski said was a dangerous intersection and had noticed an increase in accidents, at a previous board meeting. Treasurer Hunt discussed her contact with First Merchants bank. They may be able to offer the ability to accept credit card payments in the treasurer’s office for a lesser fee than what is currently offered. Further discussion with First Merchant will be had after the winter tax collection wraps up. There was no Old Business to discuss at this time. In new business, Clerk Sanders & Supervisor Uhl discussed the work and reviews they have been doing with Treasurer Hunt on the current budget.
