A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 

 

Present were: Trustees: Alana Horkey, Travis Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Supervisor Uhl, Clerk Anderson, Gary Lazette & Treasurer Hunt. Clerk Anderson did roll call.

 

• Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve the amended agenda. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.
• Trustee Travis Horkey motioned to waive the reading and approve the corrected minutes from the regular meeting held on January 9^th 2024. Treasurer Hunt seconded with the revised Account Reconciliation Report. Motion carried.
• Trustee Alana Horkey motioned to approve the December 2023 Treasurer’s Report. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.
• Supervisor Uhl motioned to waive the reading and approve the correspondences as presented. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.

 

 PUBLIC COMMENT:

 

OFFICIAL REPORTS

LIBRARY: Jennifer Grudnoski presented 2023 statistics that Dundee ended 3^rd in Monroe County in number of items circulated. Reviewed programs and events. Mentioned improvements being finished with the ADA door installation and the new railing. Upcoming 90-year celebration of the library system in 2024.

 

ASSESSING: Sent the Assessing notices for printing.

 

BUILDING DEPARTMENT: No report at this time.

 

FIRE DEPARTMENT:

• Fire Calls for January: 113 calls, 75 EMS and 38 fire calls
• Fire Chief Motolynski mentioned working on grant submissions.

 

TREASURER LISA HUNT:

• Discussed letter distributed to residents regarding Ida Tax Millage correction.
• Gave and update for ARPA funds.

 

SUPERVISOR UHL:

•  Discussed call out for northern River Raisin Watershed blockage.

 

CLERK JEAN ANDERSON:

• Absentee Voting ballot application and ballots are continuing to be returned for the February 27^th Election. Early Voting will begin this Saturday, February 17^th and run through Sunday, February 25^th. Dundee Township Residents will be able to vote early at Raisinville Township Hall.

 

 

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE:  

• Presented an update on work completed at the library.
• Will be attending a NEC Code update seminar, the cost being split between 3 municipalities for a cost $163.99 per townships.

 

TRUSTEE TRAVIS HORKEY: No report at this time.

 

TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI: No report at this time.

 

TRUSTEE ALANA HORKEY:

• Thanked Fire Department for help with fire at family’s house.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  

• No old business at this time.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

• Board of Review Training for 4 BOR members. Cost will include $125 a person plus books at $35, for a total cost around $650. Supervisor Uhl motioned for BOR members to attend Board of Review Training. Trustee Jaworski seconded. Motion Carried.   
• Davis Road – Contract Change Form with an increased amount of $4,869. Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve her signing the MCRC Change form with the revised amount. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion Carried.
• Credit Card for Fire Chief Limit Set for Spending Policy. Supervisor Uhl motioned to revise Resolution 2023- Credit Card Spending Policy by adding Fire Chief to the policy. Trustee Alana Horkey second. Discussion on the process and procedure for balancing credit card reporting process. A reporting system and procedures will be presented at upcoming board meetings. Motion Carried.
• MCRC Contract Request for 2024 Construction Season reviewed. Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve chip seal for Wells Rd, Wilcox Rd and Dunbar Rd. Trustee Travis Horkey seconded. Motion Carried. Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve aggregate as presented on the revised list for Wells to Nieman Rd and Township Line to Brewer Road. Trustee Travis Horkey amend the motion for contracts from the original list. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion Carried.
• Compensation Committee and a Firefighters Compensation discussed. Trustee Lazette motioned to form a short-term compensation committee consisting of the Supervisor, Treasurer, Clerk and Fire Chief. Trustee Jaworski seconded. Motion Carried. Trustee Travis Horkey motioned to form a long-term compensation committee consisting of the Trustee Travis Horkey, Supervisor Uhl, Fire-Liaison Hunt, and Fire Department Representation. Trustee Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion Carried.
• Leading Edge Mentoring Board Training Proposal reviewed and discussed. Will review again with consideration of budget.
• River Raisin Watershed Council Dues. Trustee Alana Horkey motioned to pay River Raisin dues at an amount of $174. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion Carried.
• Copy Machine Purchase. Supervisor Uhl motioned to purchase the Canon DX C259iF Color Copier using ARPA funds. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion Carried.
• Trustee Jaworski motioned to appoint Penny Gutierrez as an alternate to the Board of Review. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion Carried.

 

 

Additional board comments:

• Trustee Lazette discussed rescheduling the next board meeting due to the upcoming election. Trustee Lazette motioned to reschedule the next board meeting to Wednesday, February 28^th at 7:00pm. Trustee Travis Horkey seconded. Motion Carried.

• Trustee Lazette mentioned he will be looking at exterior lighting at the library.

 

 

 

 

Supervisor Uhl motioned to pay the bills from January 18, 2024 in the amended amount of $45,023.43. Trustee Travis Horkey seconded. Motion Carried.

 

 

Treasurer Hunt motioned to pay the bills from February 8, 2024 in the amount of $47,762.08. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion Carried.

 

Supervisor Uhl motioned to adjourn at 8:34 pm. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.
