A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 

 

Present were: Trustees: Alana Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Travis Horkey, Supervisor Uhl, Clerk Anderson, Gary Lazette, & Treasurer Hunt. Clerk Anderson did roll call.

 

• Trustee Travis Horkey motioned to approve the revised agenda. Trustee Jaworski supported. Motion carried.
• Supervisor Uhl motioned to waive the reading and approve the revised minutes from the regular meeting held on June 13, 2023. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
• Clerk Anderson motioned to waive the reading and approve the revised minutes from the special meeting held on July 6, 2023. Trustee Lazette seconded. Treasurer Hunt abstained Motion carried.
• Trustee Travis Horkey motioned to approve the May 2023 treasurer’s report. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT: None

 

OFFICIAL REPORTS

LIBRARY: No report at this time.

 

ASSESSING: Board of Review has been scheduled for July.

 

BUILDING DEPARTMENT: No report at this time.

 

FIRE DEPARTMENT: Firemen had a meeting and were unable to attend, however told liaison Lisa, that the premium pay checks to the firemen have been distributed and to thank the board for the checks.

 

SUPERVISOR UHL: No report at this time.

 

TREASURER LISA HUNT:

-       Mentioned the Point and Pay system is still being worked on.

-       Stated the Summer tax bills are being received now.

 

CLERK JEAN ANDERSON:

-       Reported election absentee ballots have been mailed and some have been received.  

-       Legislation is still underway for Proposal 2.

-       State required and funded ballot box has been ordered.

-       A special county clerks meeting was held in June and the regular meeting is scheduled in July.

-       A message board from the township garage was moved outside by the front entrance.

 

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE:

-       Stated concerns for township chairs.

 

TRUSTEE TRAVIS HORKEY:

-       No report at this time.

 TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI:

-       Discussed additional mowing completed at Oak Grove and concerns for cemetery mowing.

 

TRUSTEE ALANA HORKEY:

-       Discussed Village Planning Commission training underway and possible benefits for her position on ZBA.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  

• Mechanical Inspector Applications Received from 1 candidate, Donald Olszewski. Supervisor Uhl motioned to appoint Donald Olszewski as Dundee Township Mechanical Inspector through fiscal year. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Trustee Lazette opposed. Motion carried.
• Plumbing Inspector Applications Received from 1 candidate, Ryan Olszewski. Supervisor Uhl motioned to appoint Ryan Olszewski as Dundee Township Plumbing Inspector through fiscal year. Clerk Anderson seconded. Trustee Lazette opposed. Motion carried.
• Discussion of items and language in WECS Ordinance Amendment discussed. List of items to be shared with Planning Commission.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

• Discussion for the need of a township credit card for supplies due to current supplier account credit line changes. Program options from local lenders presented. Discussion of need for spending and use guidelines, including presenting example guidelines. Will review and revisit next meeting.
• Discussed need for finance specialist to assist with cleanup and meeting state compliance needs of GL. Recommendation to hire Jim Beck as finance specialist. Supervisor Uhl motioned to hire Jim Beck to work on GL at $35 per hour up to $2600. Trustee Alana Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Discussed updating township phone system and library phones. Changed library phones from Frontier to D&P Communications to help resolve phone static issues. Treasurer Hunt motioned to approve updating library phones and township phone system with D&P Communications, using ARPA funds if able. Trustee Jaworski seconded. Motion carried.
• Discussed computers for township and fire department, reviewing 3 proposals presented. Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve purchase of computers for township and fire department up to $16,000 using ARPA funds through Virtual PC as presented and adding a laptop.
• Discussed copier proposal for township and future need of replacement.

 

Additional board comments:

-       Trustee Lazette requested money be moved into a new building fund.

 

Supervisor Uhl motioned to pay the bills from June 22, 2023 in the amount of $3,561.12.

Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion Carried.

 

Supervisor Uhl motioned to pay the bills from July 5, 2023 in the amount of $60,162.70.

Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion Carried.

 

Supervisor Uhl motioned to adjourn. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.
