A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

Present were: Trustees: Gary Lazette, Travis Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Alana Horkey, Supervisor Uhl, & Treasurer Hunt, Clerk Anderson. Clerk Anderson did roll call.

 

• Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve the revised agenda to include the PNC Equipment Finance Tax Exempt Lease Purchase of the Pierce Enforcer Pumper. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.
• Trustee Jaworski motioned to waive the reading and approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on March 14, 2023. Trustee Travis Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Trustee Travis Horkey motioned to waive the reading and approve the minutes from the budget workshop held on March 14, 2023. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
• Trustee Lazette motioned to waive the reading and approve the minutes from the special meeting held on March 21, 2023. Trustee Travis Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt motioned to waive the reading and approve the minutes from the budget workshop held on March 21, 2023. Trustee Alana Horkey seconded. Motion carried.

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE: Discussed obtaining quotes for work in Treasurer’s office. Mentioned residents should sign up to Code Red.

 

TRUSTEE TRAVIS HORKEY: No report at this time.

 

TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI: Cleanup at cemeteries is complete, except 1 tree. Mentioned grave decorations have not been removed and we will need to pay for a full cemetery cleanup. Received a formal sealed bid, submitted to Supervisor Uhl.

 

TREASURER LISA HUNT: Reviewed February Fire Department numbers: Total calls: 127 with 85 fire calls & 42 EMS rescue calls. 88 calls within the Village, 37 calls within the Township and 2 mutual calls. Discussed the benefit for Rob Justice. Dan mentioned he is working on grants.

 

CLERK JEAN ANDERSON: Submitted sealed bids received to Supervisor Uhl.

 

 

 

OLD BUSINESS:  None at this time.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

• Discussed Schedule A with adjustment to increase Fire Chief pay as $820 monthly and EMD Pay as $100 monthly. Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve Schedule A. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.

 

• Opened and reviewed 2 Janitorial Bids received. Discussed bids, will discuss further at next meeting.

 

• Opened and reviewed 1 Snow Removal Bid received. Motion to accept bid for Lee Wright Snow Removal. Supervisor Uhl motioned to approve bid for Lee Wright Snow Removal. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.

 

• Discussed Schedule B. Adjustments to change dates for Snow Removal Contract for Lee Wright Snow Removal. Adjustments for Janitorial Contract to be made after bid is accepted.

 

• Discussed Salary Schedule. Trustee Travis Horkey motioned to approve Salary Schedule. Trustee Alana Horkey seconded. 5 votes for and 2 against from Trustee Lazette and Trustee Jaworski. Motion carried.

 

• Discussed PNC payment options for the approved Fire Engine Pumper Purchase. Trustee Alana Horkey motioned to approve the 10-year payment option through PNC for the Fire Engine Pumper Purchase. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.

 

Additional board comments:

• Discussed International Knights of Pythias membership status in Dundee. Discussion to occur with them on cemetery plots and their monument.

 

 

Supervisor Uhl motioned to pay the bills from March 28, 2023 in the amount of $27,709.69. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.

                         

Treasurer Hunt motioned to adjourn. Trustee Lazette supported. Motion carried.
