A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday June 11th, 2024. Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All present recited The Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Present were: Trustees: Alana Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Travis Horkey, Gary Lazette, Supervisor Uhl, Clerk Ziesmer, Treasurer Hunt. Clerk Ziesmer did roll call.

 

  • Supervisor Uhl moved to revise the agenda. With the revision of adding New Business of MTA invoice. T. Horkey supported. Motion carried.
  • Supervisor Uhl moved to waive the reading and adopt the minutes from the regular meeting held on May 28th, 2024. Treasurer Hunt moved to approve and revise under Old Business, the original Oak Grove Cemetery, strike the words “front with a gate” and replace with “Fencing Road side”. offered revision of removing the word gate from the new fencing estimate, and replace it with road side. T. Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
  • Treasurer Hunt moved to waive the reading and place on file the correspondences as presented. T. Horkey seconded. Motion carried.

OFFICIAL REPORTS

 

LIBRARY: Jennifer announced the Dundee branch is placing 3rd system wide for material circulation. They are continuing on track with the Program attendance and outreach. As of March, both programs visited and or seen 3000 people. This summer, there are several reading programs for all ages. Jennifer put together a calendar for June and July and presented it to the board. She also has a new Dragon Card rewards program. This year’s book sale will be in conjunction with the Bicentennial celebration, August 9th, 10 :00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and August 10th 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

 

ASSESSING: No report at this time.

 

BUILDING DEPARTMENT: No report at this time.

 

FIRE DEPARTMENT: No report at this time.

 

TREASURER LISA HUNT: Received the remaining stop payment reimbursement checks from the Ida school millage issue and the replacement refund checks were overnighted. Taxes are being sent to the printer 6-12-24.

 

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE:  TMO is to start the repair project at the Library on 6-12-24.

 

CLERK KARLA ZIESMER:

  • No report at this time.    

 

SUPERVISOR UHL: Discussed the new e-mail’s being created by Revize.

 

TRUSTEE TRAVIS HORKEY: Discussed concerns about the rumble strips on Wells and Dixon Rd wearing out.

 

 

TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI:

  • No report at this time.

 

TRUSTEE ALANA HORKEY:  Discussed Monroe County using some of their ARPA funds towards improving Dundee Area projects.

 

OLD BUSINESS: 

  • No old business at this time.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

  • The Friends of the Dundee Library received two different quotes for placing awnings above the upper and lower-level doors for signage. Wettle provided a bid of $3200, providing two awnings with a 10-year warranty on fabric and 1 year warranty on instillation. Trustee Alana Horkey moved to approve the quote from Wettle, Trustee Jaworski Supported. Motion Carried.
  • Leon Salenbien gave a quote of $2700 to re-stone the main driveways at Maple Grove Cemetery. This quote includes the purchase, delivery and spreading of 25A Limestone on the three main drives estimating about 55 ton of stone. Supervisor Uhl Moved to approve this quote, Treasurer Hunt Supported. Motion Carried.
  • Larry Cymbola Purchased 10 new Veteran grave markers. Supervisor Uhl moved to pay $199.50 to Larry Cymbola to reimburse the purchase. Trustee Lazette supported. Motion carried.

Dundee Township Resolution on Wind energy Moratorium is coming to an end July 7th. Trustee Jaworski moved to extended the 2024-6 Resolution Extending Moratorium 90 days. Treasurer Hunt supported. Roll call taken by Clerk Ziesmer. Trustees Alana Horkey, yes. Trustee Ken Jaworski, yes. Trustee Travis Horkey, yes. Trustee Gary Lazette, yes. Supervisor Uhl, yes. Clerk Ziesmer, yes. Treasurer Hunt, yes. Resolution 2024-6 was adopted.  

  • Mannik Smith Group gave a new proposal for the Township Master Plan. Supervisor Uhl moved to accept the Master Plan review Proposal from Mannik Smith Group using the agreement with Mannik Smith Group that is already in place. We will be billed for hours worked on the Master Plan Report, not to exceed $5000. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.
  • Salenbien Trucking gave an estimate of $3000 to provide stone at Rod Park, east parking lot. This estimate will include approximately 100 ton of stone and 1 day’s work on a dozer. With the left-over funds from Spring Clean Up, Trustee Jaworski moved to hire Salenbien Trucking to deliver stone at Rod Park, east parking lot, not to exceed $3000. Treasurer Hunt supported.  Motion carried.

 

 

 

 

Additional board comments: Michigan Township Association (MTA) annual dues for 07/07/2027 to 06/30/2025 is $7,318.00. The Legal Defense Fund contribution for the year is $219.54. Treasurer Hunt motioned to pay the dues in the amount of $7,318.00. Alana Horkey supported. Motion carried. Trustee Lazette moved to pay the MTA Legal Defense Fund in the amount of $219.54. Hunt supported. Motion carried.

 

 

 

Treasurer Hunt motioned to pay bills from June 5th, 2024 in the amount of $31,440.93.  Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion Carried.

 

Trustee Jaworski motioned to adjourn at 7:53. Trustee Lazette supported. Motion Carried.

 

The next meeting will be, June 25th 2024 at 7:00PM.
