DUNDEE TOWNSHIP

REGULAR MEETING

MAY 12, 2009

 

 

The regular meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday May 12, 2009 at the Dundee Township Hall.  Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Present were Supervisor Uhl, Clerk O'Lone, Treasurer Sontag and Trustees:  Larson, Lazette, Juckette and Winkelman.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 

Motion by Trustee Larson and supported by Trustee Winkelman to approve the agenda as printed.  Motion carried.

Motion by Trustee Larson and supported by Treasurer Sontag to approve the regular meeting minutes held Tuesday April 28, 2009 and waive the reading of such.  Motion carried.

Motion by Trustee Larson and supported by Trustee Winkelman to accept the correspondence and place on file.  Motion carried.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT

The Head Librarian, Jennifer Grudnoski reviewed the April statistics with the board.  Total items checked out from the library were 8300.  On May 21, 2009 the library will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the library system with a Hoopla Celebration beginning at 6:00 p.m.

 

OFFICIAL REPORTS

Supervisor Uhl

A joint grant writing project with Treasurer Sontag is currently 63% however; the remaining section of the website will not be complete until June or July.

 

Assessing Department

There is currently a firewall software problem involved with the installation of the BS&A program which will allow access to assessing information.  The problem is being investigated through BS&A.

 

 

Building Department

The Wilderness Retreat overflow permit information is still pending.  Supervisor Uhl will be contacting other jurisdictions for their procedures.

 

Trustee Larson

The cemetery footers will be poured no later than Monday May 18th.  Brewer Road has been patched since the last meeting when complaints and pictures were presented to the board.  Trustee Larson will be absent for possibly the next two meetings.

 

Trustee Lazette

A planning commission meeting will be held Wednesday May 20th beginning at 7:00 p.m.  A teleconference with Wacker Silicone and Soilworks regarding the PMS experimental application was held on Thursday May 7th.  Irish Road was previously selected for the application however; the maintenance performed last spring resulted in the road maintaining a better quality throughout the winter.  Other roads will be discussed that may receive more benefit from the experiment.  Samples of Dunbar and Petersburg Roads will be taken.

 

Trustee Winkelman

The following fire calls were responded to for the month of April:

Total calls responded to for the month of April was 39.

Upon final inspection of 22-7 additional damage was determined.  The truck will be delivered back to the hall on June 1st.

Zoning, design and structure will need to be determined to proceed with plans of building a new fire hall.

 

Clerk O'Lone

Voter turnout for the previous school election was at 7%.  Preliminary fieldwork is complete for the topographical survey being performed on the fire department building site.  The drawing phase will occur next.

 

OLD BUSINESS

A version of the lockbox ordinance was sent to the village and returned with minor modifications.  This ordinance will need to be adopted by both governmental jurisdictions for joint enforcement.  Motion by Trustee Lazette and supported by Trustee Larson to adopt Lock Box Ordinance 34 requiring buildings to have a key lock box installed on the exterior of the buildings for safely purposes.  Roll call vote as follows:  Treasurer Sontag yea, Trustee Lazette yea, Trustee Winkelman yea, Trustee Juckette yea, Trustee Larson yea, Clerk O'Lone yea and Supervisor Uhl yea.  Motion carried.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

An estimate of drainage work to be performed on Radka Road by Louis Roe was presented to the board.  Motion by Trustee Winkelman and supported by Trustee Lazette to approve the drainage bid at a cost of $2,500.00 for approximately 1,500 feet of work to be performed on the south side of Radka Road from Covell Road going west.  Motion carried.  Supervisor Uhl will discuss permits with the road commission and instruct Mr. Roe of their stipulations.

 

CLOSED SESSION

Motion by Supervisor Uhl and supported by Trustee Lazette to move to closed session pursuant to Open Meetings Act Section 8(h) to consider material exempt from disclosure pursuant to state or federal law, that being attorney client privileged correspondence which is exempt from disclosure pursuant to Freedom of Information Act Section 13(g).  Roll call vote as follows:  Trustee Juckette yea, Trustee Larson yea, Trustee Winkelman yea, Trustee Lazette yea, Treasurer Sontag yea, Clerk O'Lone yea and Supervisor Uhl yea.  Motion carried.  Time entering closed session was 7:52 p.m.

 

Motion by Clerk O'Lone and supported by Trustee Winkelman to move to open session.  Motion carried.  Time returning to open session was 9:07 p.m.

 

OTHER BOARD COMMENTS

Information will need to be submitted by June 10th for the summer township newsletter.

 

Motion by Trustee Larson and supported by Trustee Winkelman to pay the bills in the amount of $24,012.80.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Clerk O'Lone and supported by Trustee Lazette to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.  Time of adjournment was 9:10 p.m.
