A survey of Petersburg Road was done by Louie Roe and he will test the grades in the road to determine what will be the best course of action to correct the drainage problems in the area.
Trustee Winkelman
The following fire calls were responded to in the month of March:

Fires 3 2
Personal Inj. Accidents 2 2
Rescues 6 31
Mutual Aid 2
Other calls 12
Total calls: 60
The fire department is requesting sending four fire fighters to a two day Farm and Agriculture Machinery Incidence training seminar offered through the Morenci Fire Department at a cost of $100.00 per person. Motion by Trustee Juckette and supported by Trustee Winkelman to approve four firemen to attend the Morenci Farm and Agriculture Machinery Incidence training seminar for two days at a total cost of $400.00. Motion carried.
Clerk O'Lone
There have been 400 ballot applications and 167 ballots sent to date for the upcoming May school election.
NEW BUSINESS
Board members were presented with a burn ordinance template for discussion. Currently, there are no guidelines in place for the fire department to relay to residents if a complaint is issued. Motion by Trustee Larson and supported by Trustee Lazette to forward the outdoor and open burning ordinance to the attorney for review. Motion carried.
A Lockbox Ordinance is under consideration by the board. The ordinance would mandate all new businesses to attach a lockbox to the building with all pertinent information needed to access the building should a fire or smoke investigation occur. The existing businesses will be encouraged to participate as well. Currently, the only solution to access a building is through use of force. This ordinance would allow for easier access with less destruction. The village will be given a copy for consideration. A letter will also be sent to area businesses to access cooperation of this project. Prices of lockboxes will be obtained to see if a bulk order would result in a cost savings to the businesses. The possibility of insurance premium savings to the businesses will also be explored.
Motion by Trustee Juckette and supported by Trustee Winkelman to pay the bills in the amount of $7,704.91. Motion carried.
Motion by Clerk O'Lone and supported by Trustee Lazette to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Time of adjournment was 8:27 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tira J. O'Lone
Township Clerk
