DUNDEE TOWNSHIP
REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 27, 2010
The regular meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday April 27, 2010 at the Dundee Township Hall. Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present were Supervisor Uhl, Clerk O'Lone, Treasurer Sontag and Trustees: Larson, Lazette, Juckette and Winkelman. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Motion by Clerk O'Lone and supported by Treasurer Sontag to accept the agenda with a revision under Old Business adding line item number one the discussion of the rescue truck revamping project and under New Business adding line item number four the discussion of the tuition section of the personnel policy. Motion carried.
Motion by Trustee Winkelman and supported by Trustee Larson to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held April 13, 2010 and waive the reading of such. Motion carried.
Motion by Trustee Larson and supported by Clerk O'Lone to accept the treasurer's report for March 2010. Motion carried.

Motion by Trustee Juckette and supported by Trustee Lazette to accept the correspondence and place on file. Motion carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Mr. Paul Harnica has requested that drainage on the east side of Bunce Road be considered by the board as one of the spring and summer road projects. An area south of the Simon residence needs grading as well and Saline River Road has sufficient enough stone however; the road is flat and could use a crown applied. The Day Road Bridge is in need of a deck replacement. Board members will take the suggestions into consideration.
Mr. Vern Guindon approached the board regarding a parcel located next to his residence that is currently in foreclosure and is draining onto his parcel.
OFFICIAL REPORTS
The minuteman award nomination form was sent to the board for consideration. This award is presented to a township resident that has offered many contributions to the community over the years. Motion by Trustee Winkelman and supported by Trustee Larson to select Mr. Ed Crawley Sr. for the township's nomination for the minuteman award. Motion carried.
Mineral brine contracts were sent to the township for approval however; the board will need to determine what areas will have brine and what areas will have an alternate substance applied to the road for dust control.
Assessing Department
Tax tribunal hearings are still being conducted at the county.
Trustee Larson
Notification was received from LeClair Monuments regarding the reinstallation of stones that were displaced during an occurrence of vandalism. The total cost for the stone repair is $180.00.
Trustee Juckette
A question was posed regarding the status of the Stowell Road repaving project. The road commission has agreed to supply the labor at no charge if the township will pay for all materials. Supervisor Uhl will contact the road commission to verify that the labor will also include the design and survey of the project. The board will also request that a letter of intent be given to the board for the commission's scope of the project.
Trustee Winkelman
The fire department equipment millage was passed in November 2001 to encompass a period from 2002 to 2011 inclusive. The language for renewal will need to be developed prior to the expiration date. Board members that have not been present at the land swap meetings with Clean Tech would like to meet with representatives from the company. The committee will be meeting on Thursday and will coordinate a time.
OLD BUSINESS
Additional information has been obtained regarding the revamping of the old rescue truck. A quote was received from Hines Park Ford for $32,385.00 for a new chassis. An estimate was also received from Fitzgibbons Fleet Fabricators for $12,000.00 for the revamping of the box and the complete reconstruction of the unit. Motion by Trustee Juckette and supported by Trustee Larson to accept the quote from Hines Park Ford and Fitzgibbons Fleet Fabricators to revamp the rescue truck in to an air and hazmat truck at a cost of $32,385.00 for the chassis and a maximum cost of $12,000.00 for revamping at a cost not to exceed $44,500.00 with a possible credit for the old chassis to be applied to the purchase price. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
A proclamation was submitted to the board for consideration by Ann Tobian designating May as Motorcycle Awareness Month. Motion by Clerk O'Lone and supported by Trustee Winkelman to approve Proclamation 2010-1 Designating May as Motorcycle Awareness Month. Motion carried.
The board was given a list of stoning recommendations from Supervisor Uhl. Estimates for stoning will be obtained for the following roads: Kent, Collins, Kimpton, Rankin, Radka, Rogers and Dunbar. Stone pricing was received from Stoneco ranging $8,500.00 to $10,000.00 per mile and from the Road Commission for approximately $22,000.00 per mile. Primary roads under consideration are Stowell and Brewer. Wilcox Road will be under consideration in phases beginning at the northern end.
The tuition reimbursement section of the personnel policy will need clarification regarding mandatory and elective courses. Guidelines determining the definition of mandatory and elective and the wage reimbursement of each section will be developed. Motion by Supervisor Uhl and supported by Trustee Winkelman to pay Christine Fricke her current wage for attending a Level III class. Motion carried.
Motion by Treasurer Sontag and supported by Supervisor Uhl to pay the bills in the amount of $5,820.42. Motion carried.
Motion by Trustee Winkelman and supported by Supervisor Uhl to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Time of adjournment was 8:44 p.m.
